Electron Energy Corporation (EEC)
was founded in 1970 by the late Marlin Walmer (photo at right) with a non-exclusive license of an Air Force Research Lab patent.
From their modest beginnings in a Landisville, PA milk house, they pioneered
the development and commercialization of rare earth permanent magnets.
EEC is an established strong, international niche player and one
of the most innovative companies in the industry, providing the
world’s highest performance and the most extensive offerings of
Samarium Cobalt magnets.
Their small, family-owned and
operated business of 120 employees adds value to customers
by not only producing high quality samarium cobalt magnet
materials, but also by designing magnetic circuits utilizing 2 and
3D finite element analysis, and building rare earth magnet
assemblies and systems.
In a worldwide rare earth permanent
magnet market of $5.1 billion per year, dominated by large
players in China and Japan, EEC is the last US operated
producer of rare earth magnets. Their unique strategic
production capabilities and knowledge are utilized by both US
government contractors and the Department of Defense in
many weapons systems and programs. EEC’s markets include
aerospace, military, medical, microwave, generator, motor and
motion control applications.
